A design solution by the John Duffy Design Group, who have created one of the most exiting suburban bars in the country, well deserving of its title as Black and White Bar of the Year 2003.

McKenna Cairns undertook the complete joinery and woodwork within the Bar. With a base of natural wood and stone, enlivened by warm, bold colours in the furniture and features, the overall look of Barry’s is contemporary, modern and fresh.

Barry’s is frequented by a variety of customers, from businesspeople who want a peaceful morning coffee to lunchtime guests and evening diners and drinkers. So rather than divide the large space into smaller rooms, the designers simply created different sections within an open plan, using furniture and décor to give each its own identity and purpose.
